Mariko has been painting since she was a little girl. Watching the earth and sky is her joy. When she came to Mendocino from Tokyo in 1982 she became aware that the earth is so beautiful and this beauty is reflected in her remarkable images of our coast's natural exquisiteness. She hopes that when she paints, the vibration connects to relaxation, inner peace, healing, happiness and love. When you face her painting, you feel the vibration, then you smile. Smiles make a wonderful world. She quotes Albert Einstein - "When something vibrates, the electrons of the entire universe resonate with it. Everything is connected."
