Angela was born into an artistic and creative family – her father designed and manufactured custom jewelry for Cartier’s of London and her grandfather was a jeweler on the West Bank in Paris. As she was growing up in England, it was her father’s guiding hand that helped her paint her first wave at the age of twelve. The family moved to the United States in 1956. It was in 1969 that she met her future husband, Howard, also English, but living in the United States and serving in the United States Air Force. Ironically his first assignment was to an airbase located in England. They returned to the United States in 1972. Shortly after that Angela was hired on at the Walt Disney Studios in the Ink and Paint Department.
It was in 1989 that the family moved to Mendocino. It was here that she started taking her art seriously by participating in as many art classes and workshops as possible. Angela draws her inspiration from the picturesque Victorians in the village of Mendocino, local vineyards, and the beautiful and multiple moods of the sea. She was featured on the cover of the Mendocino Traveler’s Guide and has been selected to paint one of the highly prized wine bottles (since 1996) for WINESONG. In 2006, Angela was selected Artist of the Year by WINESONG and presented them with a beautiful painting that was auctioned at the prestigious charity event, graced the cover page for the program, and prints were signed and given to important donors at the Artist Reception party.
Angela’s paintings are represented in private collections throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia. Her paintings can be found at Highlight Gallery in Mendocino Village on Main Street.
