Majestic Giants was taken at Montgomery Woods State Natural Preserve on March 22, 2016. The park is in Mendocino County about 15 miles east of Comptche.
The park is beautiful any time of year but really comes to life after it rains. The stream beds are filled with water, the ferns and moss are refreshed and dampness makes the ground and trees more vibrant. My wife and I were waiting for such conditions. As we drove from our home we were in constant drizzle. As we arrived at the parking lot the rain stopped but during our visit, we experienced both overcast conditions and a return of light rain. This day provided the ideal conditions we had hoped for.
Majestic Giants is a 2x3, height to width ratio. All of my photos are reproduced as dye infused metal prints. These metal prints have unsurpassed luminescence and have outstanding archival qualities. They can be sized to meet individual needs. Many frame options are available to customize the photo to individual taste and budget considerations. I very much enjoy working with customers to help them create something that will have special meaning for years to come.
I am a nature and wildlife photographer. Since retiring 20 years ago I have been fortunate to enjoy having the ocean as my back yard and enjoy the ever-changing landscape and wildlife. Since I’m here full time I have the opportunity to witness and photograph the best the area has to offer. Sunrises, Sunsets, breaking waves, hummingbirds, osprey and pelicans are some of my specialties. I also have been fortunate to visit other beautiful areas and catch them in their finest hours.
