Old Oak with Downy Woodpecker by Barbara Banthien.
Although birds have been the primary focus of my art for the past twenty years, I have a new-found appreciation of the trees they inhabit. I am often stunned by the massive and unique forms each tree and branch take. I’d walked by this particular Live Oak many times and it seemed a perfect place for the little Downy Woodpecker to rest. The tree so massive, and the bird so delicate.
Original acrylic painting framed in a rustic wood frame, 26.5 inches x 15 inches framed size. Image size is 11 inches by 22 inches.
