Yosemite Valley Sunset
This photo was taken in Yosemite National Park on May 3, 2015. The photo was taken at approximately 7:56pm.
We were at Yosemite NP celebrating my wife’s birthday. We noticed that afternoon clouds were developing and were hopeful of catching a colorful sunset. We set up at this iconic location in the Yosemite Valley and waited to see what would develop. As sunset approached, in what photographers refer to as the Golden Hour the warm golden tones came in and there were wonderful reflections in the water. I also took a photo at that time, “Yosemite Valley at Golden Hour”.
About 15 minutes later the color that we hoped for appeared producing the “Yosemite Valley Sunset” photo. A perfect day.
This photograph was shot as a panorama and therefore has a very large file. This allows making very large photos with great detail. If you love Yosemite this will make stunning large prints.
This photo is a 1x1.66, height to width ratio. Typical sizes are 12x20, 18x30,27x45 and 36x60. We have the 5 feet size in our home and if space permits it can be printed up to 8 feet long. The CEO of the company that prints and frames my photos also has a 60” copy in his home. All of my photos are reproduced as dye infused metal prints. These metal prints have unsurpassed luminescence and have outstanding archival qualities. They can be sized to meet individual needs. Many frame options are available to customize the photo to individual taste and budget considerations. I very much enjoy working with customers to help them create something that will have special meaning for years to come.
I am a nature and wildlife photographer. Since retiring 20 years ago I have been fortunate to enjoy having the ocean as my back yard and enjoy the ever-changing landscape and wildlife. Since I’m here full time I have the opportunity to witness and photograph the best the area has to offer. Sunrises, Sunsets, breaking waves, hummingbirds, osprey and pelicans are some of my specialties. I also have been fortunate to visit other beautiful areas and catch them in their finest hours.
Very Large Reproduction Possible
This photograph was shot as a panorama and therefore the digital file is very large. This makes it possible to produce very large images with great detail. If interested please contact the gallery.
