Judith Brown - oils
Judith Brown, local painter and printmaker, presents her recent series of oil paintings that explore the tidal landscape of Mendocino's Big River Beach. These bold realistic compositions dramatically capture the glow of evening light, evoking a quiet atmosphere of mystery.





Sally Cataldo - watercolors
Sally Cataldo's goal is to bring to the viewer a language of simple visual poetry as it exists within the watercolor medium. Her refreshing approach to composition and luminous use of color that radiates beneath the layers of value changes and comes together to give life and presence to her paintings.





Tom McFadden - furniture
Tom McFadden has been making fine furniture in Northern California since 1963. His handmade functional furniture features dovetail and doweled joints combined with frame and panel construction, designed to remain structurally sound. He produces pieces of his own design as well as working with clients on custom commissions.

Hope Stevenson - oils
Hope Stevenson uses a pallet knife and oil to capture the unique light and character of the North Coast. Her textural surfaces and sense of color convey her obvious love for the area. Working on sight keeps her work fresh and loose, allowing her feeling for the scene to be apparent in the finished painting.

Francine Hurd - pastels
Francine Hurd captures moments in time. . .a gesture, an expression, radiance in a landscape, patterns in trees. Through light and color, her pastel and oil paintings create intimate relationships between the viewer and the image, allowing us to experience the world through the eyes of an accomplished artist.

Elizabeth Berrien - wire sculpture
Elizabeth Berrien's technical mastery of 3-D line drawings in wire blend fluidly with her lifelong study of animal forms and motion. Her distinctive hand-twisted wire sculptures of animals are a hybrid of lace making and engineering, capturing the essence in form and spirit of the creatures observed.

Jan Peterson - Ocean Sandpaintings
Jan Peterson is a sandpainter who explores the patterns and rhythms of the ocean's shorelines. He uses natural sands collected from throughout the world to create images that allow us to touch in with a part of the earth, to enjoy and remember the beauty, serenity, color, and textures of the ocean and its inhabitants

Reception - Saturday June 11,  5 to 7 pm

Jerry Kermode - Turned Vessels

Jerry Kermode has a love affair with trees; to him their continued growth is as important as the joy of turning. He uses either salvaged or sustainably harvested wood to create turned bowls that allow the tree to extend beyond its rooted existence, through his hands into yours.
