The touch of brush to paper, color and composition, come together to give the paintings of Sally Cataldo life and presence. The work draws you to the isolated moment where movement and time stand still. The artists refreshing approach to the subject is reflected in the bold use of the watercolor medium, giving it a distinctive signature.
Francine Hurd creates relationships between the viewer and the work through use of light and color. The emotion of image is felt from the subtle pastel and oils. These images take the viewer to that special place in the artists secret world.

A unique feature of this show is that this is first time event
(for The Highlight) featuring a mother and daughter presentation.

The beauty of the form is revealed in nature through the eyes of the artist. Two distinctly different styles are represented in this showing.
The work of
Phil Brown reflects a quiet reverence for the material he uses. He has found his unique approach to his work by allowing the shapes to flow out of the grain pattern of the tree.
Gary Johnson creates the patterns in his work by transforming the material from nature to a vessel form. His use of laminated and segmented techniques allows the work to reflect their inspiration from Native American baskets and pottery.

Four North Coast Woodworkers

The north coast of California is home to some of the finest woodworkers in North America. Richness and diversity is celebrated in this special showing of work by four individuals who derive inspiration from this region. The flowing lines of John Onstine's work contrast with the solid case pieces of John Pinzer, while the play of form and light of Richard Taylor's scuptural inspired pieces are far removed from that of the forms of Rick Turk. Together these four artists have offered a collection of pieces showing the richness of their material and the attention to detail that distinguishes their accomplishments
